Home • Industry FAQs • Why does the thread fuse when the machine stops?
  1. The thread used may be poorly finished or unsuitable for the fabric or sewing operation. Change to a better quality thread or change to a corespun thread.
  2. The fabric may have been poorly, harshly finished or densely woven. The fabric finish may need to be improved. A change of needle to a more suitable type/finish may help as would the use of needle coolants.
  3. The needle may be damaged or the needle overheated after thread breaks and a new needle is just required.
