Coats Innovation Hub, America comprises three zones. The Materials Lab is where customers can collaborate directly with R&D technologists in the idea generation and creation processes. The Prototyping Area is where ideas and prototypes can be created. It includes a pilot factory with a full range of manufacturing machinery that can be used to fine-tune production processes in a controlled, stand-alone environment.

Unique to Innovation Hub – EMEA is a model car which is on display and provides the base for an augmented reality experience. Visitors are able to explore the car via an interactive screen and see the multiple products Coats delivers to the automotive industry in their end use. These range from Coats’ pioneering composite products to safety-critical threads used in airbags and seatbelts.

The Innovation Hub Asia, based in Shenzhen, is a leading hub for apparel and footwear and will have a focus on creating a sustainable product portfolio. The customer experience zone facilitates collaboration and the creation of an initial idea. Dedicated flexible manufacturing enables innovative prototypes to be produced with speed, and a quality laboratory is able to prove that concepts designed and created actually meet the functional parameters of the final product or garment.
2024 has been another excellent year integrating our Footwear division from three businesses into one combined industry leader – we are excited about the future growth and cross-selling opportunities that are available to us.
