Sustainability Report 2021
Our 2021 Sustainability Report gives an update on our progress against our targets for 2022. It also details our strong relationships with our business partners and customers, coupled with our commitment to behaving responsibly
Key Focus Areas
Coats will shift to circularity creating produce and packaging solutions that enable recycling and reuse, within it’s own operations and across the wider garment industry.
- We have recently developed a ground breaking water dissolvable thread concept under the brand name EcoCycle, which helps facilitates end of life garment recycling
- Join us on our circularity journey
By 2030 all products will be made completely independently of new oil-extraction materials.
In light of this objective, a guest panel discussed:
- Sustainable material innovations
- The move towards zero waste in denim production
Coats commits to net zero by 2050. By 2030 70% of our global energy consumption will come from renewables.
By producing EcoVerde recycled threads over the last 3 years, we have managed to:
- Recycle over 240 million PET bottles
- Avoiding 5,588 tonnes of CO2 in the process
- That’s the equivalent of charging nearly 700 million smartphones!
