Coats Group’s Global Health Initiative: Celebrating World Health Day Together
World Health Day is observed worldwide on April 7th as a significant day to raise awareness about global health. Each year, the day focuses on a specific health theme or concern that affects the entire world. The primary objective is to enhance health outcomes on a global scale by increasing awareness, encouraging action, and advocating for effective solutions. The day serves as an opportunity for individuals, communities, organisations, and governments to come together to promote health and well-being for all.
The theme for the 2024 World Health Day campaign is ‘My health, my right.’ This year’s theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination.
We have launched over 150 programmes in the countries where Coats operates to promote the health and wellness of our employees in 2023. The programmes included sessions on mental health, physical fitness, aerobic dance, a fruit day, sports, a medical camp, and disease awareness.
Farnaz Ranjbar, Group Chief Human Resources Officer, said: “At Coats, our dedication to our people knows no bounds. We are committed to empowering each individual with the knowledge and resources they need to lead vibrant, healthy lives. Through our Energy 4 Performance programme which focuses on all 4 energy zones including mental health, we cultivate a workplace culture that champions well-being, ensuring every member of our team thrives both personally and professionally.”
We fully acknowledge the significance of mental health and well-being for our employees worldwide and in every location where we operate. Our commitment lies in establishing a work environment that fosters positivity and support, ensuring that our employees feel valued, respected, and empowered.
Our Flagship E4P Programme
We’re immensely proud of our flagship programme, “Energy4Performance,” or E4P. A key goal is to promote our employees’ holistic health and vitality & insurance ensuring they have robust health both in their professional and personal lives. Structural programmes help our employees’ health and wellbeing addressing mental, physical, social, and emotional aspects. We will create health-promoting and enabling workplaces through our E4P plan, which primarily targets the following areas:
Mental Energy: Devoting time to unwind our thoughts, utilising strategies, and actively engaging in activities to revitalise and enhance our attention.
Physical Energy: The cornerstone of all other energies includes exercise, sleep, diet, and periodic daytime relaxation and rejuvenation.
Social Energy: Rooted in the pursuit of the common good, committed to contributing to a cause larger than our individual selves.
Emotional Energy: Capturing the specific actions & emotions that brings us happiness.
When it comes to health, this framework is the north star. With E4P as their flagship programme, it lets nations modify their programmes according to their needs.
To enhance the mental health and overall well-being of employees, our aim is to establish a culture of trust, engagement, and productivity. This is driven by our Energy 4 Performance framework, which helps our employees succeed at work and home. Every action, no matter how big or little, is tracked and measured, and we always listen to our workers and other stakeholders for ideas on how to get better. Our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation drives us to embrace future challenges and opportunities with open arms.
