Retro reflective sewing and embroidery thread for fashion applications
When illuminated by a light source, it helps to enhance the visibility at night-time or in difficult weather conditions and adds that extra special decorative feature. The daytime color is silver and when illuminated by light the reflected color is white.
It is a specially developed thread to give you an extraordinary high level of retro-reflectance coupled with good sewability. Signal has been bonded to prevent the ply from unravelling during sewing, and lubricated to protect against needle heat and make sure it sews smoothly - even in high-speed sewing environments.
Signal is a high-tech thread with excellent strength and durability, primarily for high visibility fashion applications. It is not for safety wear where strict norms for reflectivity values are specified.
Certified to Öko-Tex Standard 100, class II and meets our Coats restricted substance list.

Signal Special Use Products
For decorative reflective stitching and embroidery on thicker materials, e.g. for footwear and accessories, please use Signal HD thread. Signal HD (Heavy Duty) is a coarser Signal thread designed to withstand the demands of footwear applications.

Textile Care Labelling
Please ensure machine settings suit the properties of the thread when using Signal for embroidery.
It is important the factory sewing with Coats is correctly instructed in the use of the Signal threads and despite the best bonding technology, the glassbeads can occasionally come off the thread during the sewing process. It is therefore very important that the sewing machines are cleaned down with compressed air at regular intervals. Please contact your local Coats office for technical support.
