Denim Jeans

Our comprehensive range of sewing threads deliver good on machine performance, seam strength and durability, and are designed to withstand the rigorous sewing and wash down processes used in denim jeans production and post dyed jeans.

Adult jeans require approximately 180 meters of thread while children's jeans require approximately 130 of thread.

Depending on the required final quality, alternative thread types may be used. Thread size will determine needle size.

    Disclaimer

The determination of the thread size used for topstitching is to a large extent determined by the overall desired appearance.

The sewing thread recommendations laid out above are intended as a guide to aid the construction of garments with good quality seams. As garments of the same generic type differ in terms of fabric substrate and construction, and both making up methods and post make up processing can greatly vary, these recommendations should be viewed as a good starting point for thread selection. The table below shows the main sewing operations on a five pocket western jean.
